American Legion Post 312 2009 Baseball Results
Another Great Season has come to and end for the Post 312 Teams.
The 9Th District had a wonderful showing in the State Tournaments.
Post 312’s own AA. (Juniors), team finished second in the State
Tournament, only losing to the eventual Regional champion. Ballwin,
by the score of 6 to 5 in the Championship game. The A (Freshman)
and the AAA (Senior) Teams from the West Jaguars (OS) Team placed
First and Third in their State Tournaments. The All Star games for
all three Divisions were held at T.R. Hughes Ball Park on July 25th.
Post 312 Teams were represented in abundance. Manager Jay Rick’s A
Division Team placed 12 Players on the squad. The Players were
Adam Ricks (C)), Sam Chambers (OF), Sam Melliere (P), Kevin
Hughes (P), Stephen Johler (P), Spencer Pugh (1B), Paul Rothermich
(OF), Ben Hill (P), Kyle Kramer (3B), Mark Cline (SS), Nick Knobbe
(OF) and Alen Leos (C)). The AA Division Team managed by Post 312’s
Dale Hallemeier placed 7 players on the North Squad. Neither Dale
nor the players could participate due to the fact they were competing
in the State Tournament at the time of the game. Never the less,
they were recognized as players voted to the team. Those players are
Jacob Bothe (C), Zach Jones (SS), Joe Hallemeier (OF), Matt Strode
(P), Justin Weber (1B), Eric Stross (3B), and Mike Eimer (2B).
The AAA Division team managed by Kurt Denningmann, placed 8 players
on the North Squad for the All-Star game. They were Charles Dalton
Hillemann (OF), Jon Sinecki (P), Brian Grote (P), Tyler Paule (P),
Brandon Chowning (P), Mike Hollander (2B), Llendon Ehlmann (3B) and
Nick Gumm (SS). The Post 312 Color Guard participated in the opening
ceremonies for all three Division games. Post Commander Don Lauer
threw out the first pitch at the A Division game which started the
days festivities. Although Commander Lauer threw a sinker, I believe
it was still called a strike. Adjutant Al Schultz was drafted to throw
out the first pitch for the AAA Division game, the last event of the
day. I believe Al was clocked somewhere in the eighty mph range for
his toss. The Good Lord blessed us once again with great weather for
the All Star exhibitions and a grand time was had by all the players
and their parents and grandparents in attendance. This brings us to
the end of the 2009 American Legion Baseball season. I would like to
express the thanks of the Baseball Committee, managers, players, and
parents of the players for all the benevolence Post 312 bestows upon
us. Without the cooperation of the Post 312 membership it would be
impossible to field these teams of fine young players. We are all
looking forward to another great campaign in 2010.
